Welcome to the Physiotherapy Department!
We are based in Suite 5 of the hospital, but provide Physiotherapy Services across the Trust. Suite 5 houses all of the Therapy teams, so OT, Dietetics, SLT, Orthotics and Podiatry all come together under one roof! Our Physiotherapy teams cover Neurology, Critical Care, Medicine and Surgery, MSK Outpatients, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and Womens’ and Mens’ Health. Usually you will have a named supervisor or supervisors for your placement, but you should expect to work with different members of the team in which you are based so that you gain a broad range of experiences.

To make the most of your placement please come prepared, by carrying out any pre-reading advised in the pre-placement information or by your supervisor. Usually in the first week of your placement you will be expected to set SMART objectives so please start to think about what you would like to achieve during your placement.
Your supervisor will discuss your start and finish times with you and on your first day will organise a locker for you so that you can store your belongings safely while you are here. We have a well equipped staff room area with fridges and microwaves so please feel free to bring your lunch and make use of these facilities. There is a £1 per week contribution for tea, coffee and water from the cooler.
