The pharmacy department encourages pre-registration pharmacists to remain after registration and a significant number of our pharmacists have stayed with the Trust after completing their pre-registration training year.
The pre-registration year is viewed as the foundation year of a three-year training programme, with pharmacists progressing to the clinical diploma. Pharmacists are encouraged to explore their interests with further training.
Completing your training in a department that offers a wide range of specialities gives you a broad background of clinical knowledge which will allow you to progress in many different directions in your future career.
The pharmacy department offers several 1-week non-paid summer work experience placements to 3rd year undergraduates each year. These provide the opportunity to experience working in a hospital environment and to discuss the training year with current pre-registration pharmacists and tutors.
For more information about the 2020 summer placements and how to apply please email email@example.com. The deadline for application submission is Friday 10th January 2020.

The department will be holding open day sessions in summer 2020. During the sessions 3rd year undergraduates will have the opportunity to learn more about our pre-registration training programmes and tour the hospital and pharmacy department.
Further details about the sessions and how to book will be available in April 2020.
