Pharmacy
Why Chesterfield Royal Hospital?
Chesterfield Royal Hospital is a modern and friendly place to work. The pharmacy team is supportive and forward-thinking, having won individual and team awards for innovation and clinical excellence in the Trust’s staff recognition awards.
As an acute hospital with approximately 600 beds, Chesterfield Royal is small enough for you to feel part of the team but large enough to provide diversity and challenges to your work.
The pharmacy department has a Health & Wellbeing team who are committed to improving the working life of team members and arrange social events in and out of work.

The Trust also provides access to various support services to promote the wellbeing of staff.

Looking to the future
The pharmacy department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital is modern, pro-active, forward-thinking and well respected both locally and nationally. We have automated dispensing and electronic prescribing within the hospital.
We are committed to the development of pharmacist prescribing and have one of the highest numbers of pharmacist prescribers in the country who provide direct patient care via prescribing roles, including:

-
Prescribing in surgical pre-assessment clinic and on the Theatre Admissions Unit
-
Prescribing TPN as part of the nutrition team
-
Specialist roles within haematology & oncology, critical care, emergency admissions, respiratory, biologics, and many more

The safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medicines is high on the agenda at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and with a pharmacy team dedicated to promoting their role within the hospital this is likely to remain a key focus.
Chesterfield - a great place to live and work
Chesterfield Royal Hospital is situated one mile away from the town centre with easy access via bus, car, or on foot. Chesterfield is known as the ‘Gateway to the Peaks’ due to its close proximity to the Peak District National Park.
With the M1 only a 10 minutes drive from the hospital and a main train line running through the town, Nottingham and Sheffield are both within 30 minutes travelling time. On-site car parking is available at minimal cost.
